If you’re anything like me, you are always looking for any way you can possibly make your dog’s life better.
Who doesn’t like pumpkin cookies? You don’t even have to be a top pastry chef to make these delicious treats.
Here’s what I use and how I do it…
The most important ingredient… Pure pumpkin puree. Read the ingredient label on the can to make sure it is 100% PURE PUMPKIN, and NOT pumpkin spice.
Ingredients:
One 15oz. can of pure pumpkin
3/4 Cup of Rice Cereal
1/2 Cup of Dry Powdered Milk
1/2 Cup of Creamy Peanut Butter (Xylitol Free) Optional
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300F.
Mix all ingredients together.
Shape the treats according to preference (I prefer a half-tablespoon of mix, roll into a small ball, flattened). Place onto a lightly greased cookie sheet, or wax paper on a cookie sheet. Cook for fifteen minutes, twenty minutes for more well done treats.
Let cool, then enjoy!
Tim’s Tip:
Remember it is NOT the size of the treat which makes your dog happy, it is the experience of receiving the treat!
To avoid overfeeding your dog the extra calories, feel free to break up the treats into several treats for your dog. Smaller treats = Less calories and a healthier dog.
Thanks for caring!
